What is the AssaultRunner Classic?
Imagine being able to enjoy a genuine running experience at any time: without depending on the weather, without annoying motor noise and without having to adapt to preset speeds. That is exactly what the AssaultRunner Classic offers. It was developed by athletes and brings the unfiltered feel of running straight into your home gym.

- Maximum user weight of approx. 159 kg (350 lbs)

- Display with time, speed, RPM and heart rate, Bluetooth and ANT+
- Integrated handle and transport wheels for easy moving
Motorless and intuitive: you are the drive
The AssaultRunner Classic is a motorless treadmill, which means no electricity is required. The faster you run, the faster the belt moves. If you slow down or stop, the belt stops immediately too. This intuitive control gives you maximum training control and safety, and you do not have to worry about complicated settings.
- Higher calorie burn: because you drive the belt yourself, you burn significantly more calories than on motorised treadmills.
- Natural running style: the curved running surface encourages a natural forefoot or midfoot stride, which is easier on the joints and improves your running efficiency.
- Ideal for HIIT and sprints: from standing to a full sprint in a second, with no waiting time at all.
- Unlimited speed: there is no top speed, only your own performance.
The AssaultRunner uses your own energy, consumes no electricity and has a low CO₂ footprint. You will find more on the principle of the whole series in the AssaultRunner overview.
Build and durability
The Classic is not just a treadmill but an investment in your fitness. The robust steel frame in elegant black with classic white branding provides extreme stability and a modern look that fits well into any home gym. The streamlined side panels with the distinctive Classic branding underline the design.
| Feature | What it gives you |
|---|

| Running belt life of up to 150,000 miles (approx. 240,000 km) | Intensive training sessions for years |

| Width of 84 cm (33 inches) | The lightest treadmill |
Why a curved treadmill?
A classic treadmill forces you into a fixed pace set by a motor. On a curved, motorless treadmill it is the other way round: the running surface follows your movement. You run on a curve, and your position on it determines how fast the belt gets. That is closer to running outdoors, because you control pace and stride yourself.
| Motorless and curved (Classic) | Motorised treadmill |
|---|
| Drive | Your own power | Electric motor |
| Power | Not required | Required |
| Pace | You decide, unlimited | Set at the push of a button |
| Start and stop | Immediately when you start or stop running | Accelerates and brakes according to the setting |
| Running style | Encourages a natural forefoot or midfoot stride | Mostly a preset rhythm |
For HIIT, sprints and intervals this is ideal: you go from standing to a full sprint and can ease off at any time without waiting for the belt.
DriveTrain system: a running feel like outdoors
The heart of the AssaultRunner Classic is its precise DriveTrain system. With 100 ball bearings and 12 roller guides, it provides a smooth, quiet and natural running comfort. You feel the ground under your feet and can use power and technique optimally: no jerky movements, no unnecessary wear, just running.
Display and training programmes
Despite its mechanical nature, the Classic is modernly equipped. The high-contrast, UV-resistant display shows you all the important data at a glance: time, speed, RPM (revolutions per minute) and heart rate. Thanks to Bluetooth and ANT+, you connect your heart rate strap or other trackers easily.
| Programme | What it does |
|---|
| Quick start | Get going straight away, without settings |
| Intervals | Preset programmes (20/10 and 10/20) or fully customised intervals |
| Target programmes | Goals by time, distance, calories or heart rate |
| Competition mode | Measure yourself against others or challenge yourself |
Built for your home gym
The Classic is not only powerful but also practical at home. Thanks to the integrated handle and the robust transport wheels, you move it around the room effortlessly. That way you store it when you need space or set it up exactly where you want to train. You will find ideas for setting up in the article Setting up a home gym: equipment and kit for maximum performance.

Training on the AssaultRunner Classic
If you have never run on a curved treadmill before, start slowly and get used to the curve. You control the pace through your position: further forward it gets faster, further back slower. As soon as you run slower, the belt slows down too.
| Workout | Structure | Goal |
|---|
| Getting started | 10 to 15 minutes of easy running, finding your position on the curve | Getting used to the curved belt |
| Sprint intervals | 8 to 10 rounds of 20 seconds fast, then 60 to 90 seconds of walking | Speed and fitness |
| Pyramid | 30, 60, 90, 60, 30 seconds at a brisk pace with walking breaks in between | Endurance and pace changes |
| Base endurance | 20 to 40 minutes at a steady, easy pace | Endurance and recovery |
The figures are guideline values for healthy people: adjust duration and intensity to your level and get medical advice first if you have any pre-existing conditions.
